What accreditation is

Professional Passport operates an independent compliance assessment. Organisations are assessed against published criteria, on the evidence they provide, by people whose job is to assess them. The outcome is a judgement about that organisation’s compliance position.

What Precision is

Precision is an umbrella payroll platform sold on commercial terms. It is bought because of what it does - calculate payroll under controlled rules, validate it before payment, evidence what happened, and connect that evidence to the parties who need it.

How the two relate

Precision benefits from the insight that assessment work produces. Seeing where umbrella payroll operations repeatedly fail is what shaped the eleven control groups the platform runs. That insight flows one way: from the general patterns observed in assessment, into product design.

It does not flow the other way. Running Precision does not make an organisation more likely to be accredited, does not shorten an assessment, and does not substitute for any part of one.

The commitments

• Purchasing, running or renewing Precision confers no accreditation, and no advantage in obtaining one.
• Assessment outcomes are not influenced by whether an organisation is a Precision customer.
• Assessment decisions are governed by independent processes, and the assessment function is not accountable to the software business for its outcomes.
• Where a commercial relationship exists between an assessed organisation and the software business, it is not a factor in the assessment.

If you are considering both

Evaluate them separately, on their own merits. If a claim is made to you - by us or by anybody else - that buying Precision helps with accreditation, it is wrong, and we would like to know it was made.
